Terms of Service
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before attending DigitalGame Expo
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for, accessing, or attending DigitalGame Expo ("the Event"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and DigitalGame Expo organizers. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not register for or attend the Event. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued participation in the Event following any such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.
2. Event Registration and Tickets
2.1 Registration Requirements
To attend DigitalGame Expo, you must complete the registration process and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your registration credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. All attendees must be at least 13 years of age, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
2.2 Ticket Purchase and Payment
Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability. All ticket sales are final unless the Event is canceled by the organizers. Payment must be received in full before tickets are issued. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods as indicated during the registration process. Prices are subject to change without notice until payment is confirmed.
2.3 Refund Policy
Refunds will only be issued if the Event is canceled by the organizers and cannot be rescheduled. In such cases, ticket holders will receive a full refund of the ticket price within 30 business days. No refunds will be provided for tickets if you are unable to attend for any reason, including but not limited to personal circumstances, travel issues, or health concerns. Tickets are non-transferable except with prior written consent from DigitalGame Expo management.
3. Attendee Conduct and Responsibilities
3.1 Code of Conduct
All attendees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, or any other protected characteristic. Attendees who violate this code of conduct may be expelled from the Event without refund and may be prohibited from attending future events.
3.2 Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited at the Event:
- Bringing weapons, illegal substances, or dangerous materials onto the premises
- Engaging in violent, threatening, or disruptive behavior
- Unauthorized recording, photography, or livestreaming of workshops, presentations, or exhibitor materials
- Soliciting or conducting commercial activities without prior written authorization
- Tampering with or damaging Event property, equipment, or displays
- Distributing unauthorized promotional materials or advertisements
- Impersonating Event staff, speakers, or other attendees
3.3 Personal Property
DigitalGame Expo is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property brought to the Event. Attendees are advised to keep their belongings secure at all times. Any lost items should be reported to Event staff immediately. Lost and found services will be available at the information desk during Event hours.
4. Workshops and Sessions
4.1 Workshop Registration
Some workshops and sessions may require separate registration in addition to general Event admission. Workshop capacity is limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot guarantee availability of specific workshops. Workshop schedules are subject to change, and speakers may be substituted without prior notice due to unforeseen circumstances.
4.2 Participation Requirements
Certain workshops may have prerequisites or recommended skill levels. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet these requirements before registering. Workshop materials and equipment will be provided where specified, but attendees may be required to bring their own devices or software for some sessions. Please review individual workshop descriptions carefully for specific requirements.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
5.1 Event Content
All content presented at DigitalGame Expo, including but not limited to presentations, workshop materials, exhibitor displays, promotional materials, and Event branding, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of any Event content is strictly prohibited without express written permission from the copyright holder.
5.2 Photography and Recording
Professional photography and videography will be conducted throughout the Event for promotional purposes. By attending, you grant DigitalGame Expo the right to use your image, likeness, and voice in photographs, videos, and other media for marketing and promotional purposes without compensation. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify Event staff who will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
6. Health and Safety
6.1 Venue Safety
Attendees must comply with all venue safety regulations and instructions from Event staff and venue security personnel. Emergency exits must remain clear at all times. In the event of an emergency, please follow the instructions of Event staff and proceed calmly to the nearest exit. Assembly points will be clearly marked and communicated during the Event.
6.2 Health Requirements
Attendees who are feeling unwell or exhibiting symptoms of contagious illness are requested not to attend the Event. We reserve the right to refuse entry or request that attendees leave the premises if they appear to pose a health risk to others. Depending on current health guidelines, additional health measures such as vaccination requirements or health screenings may be implemented.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DigitalGame Expo, its organizers, sponsors, partners, and venue providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your attendance at or participation in the Event. This includes, but is not limited to, personal injury, property damage, loss of data, or loss of profits. You attend the Event at your own risk and agree to release and hold harmless DigitalGame Expo and all associated parties from any claims or liabilities.
DigitalGame Expo is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or health issues that may occur during the Event. Attendees are advised to maintain appropriate insurance coverage. The organizers do not guarantee the accuracy or quality of information presented by speakers or exhibitors and are not liable for any decisions made based on such information.
8. Force Majeure
DigitalGame Expo shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms if such failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, pandemics, government restrictions, or failures of third-party service providers. In such cases, the Event may be postponed, relocated, or canceled, and attendees will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.
9. Exhibitor Terms
Exhibitors must comply with all additional terms and conditions specified in their exhibitor agreements. Exhibitor booths must be set up and staffed during designated Event hours. Exhibitors are responsible for their own equipment, materials, and staff. All exhibitor activities must comply with applicable laws and regulations. The organizers reserve the right to remove any exhibitor or display that is deemed inappropriate, offensive, or in violation of these Terms.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
DigitalGame Expo is committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. Collection, use, and disclosure of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By registering for the Event, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy. 11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your attendance at the Event shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Brisbane, Queensland. Both parties agree to attempt to resolve any disputes through good-faith negotiation before pursuing legal action.
